Welcome to Vente Pain Relief Clinic! We are Downtown Toronto’s premier deep tissue Massage and fascial therapy clinic.

Our specialty is treating chronic pain stemming from tight muscles and fascia.

Thank you for visiting!

What can deep tissue massage do for you?

Deep tissue massage is an aggressive form of massage. It can free up tight stubborn muscles. “Lighter” massage can be a choice but if the issue is chronic, aggressive work is needed. Deep tissue massage can also access deeper layers of soft-tissue, that can be problematic.

Who generally chooses deep tissue massage?

Typically, those that have had chronic soft-tissue tightness for a long period. This can be weeks to months to some even years. Athletes also choose this style of treatment because of the profound effects it has on the muscles and fascia.

What can treating the fascia do for you?

The fascia is the connective tissue that lies underneath the skin. At times the fascia can become very tight causing pain and discomfort locally. The fascia when it is tight can also cause pain away from the area of tightness. When the fascia loosens, you can find the muscles become significantly looser. Hence, the reason for why the fascia is the baseline for our treatments.

What are some of the conditions you treat?

What makes the Vente style different?

We understand how difficult it can be to find deep tissue massage in Toronto. We describe our treatment style as deliberate, precise, sequenced and very, very targeted. There is a method to the madness. The treatment is specifically crafted for your particular condition. We also take the time to address structures based on how tight the area is. What this means is that it can take 15-45 minutes to relax certain structures. Time allotted is an important aspect to the treatment. There definitely is a certain level of discomfort during treatment but the benefits can outweigh the pain.

Alfie is a top notch massage therapist – he is extremely knowledge about the science behind massage therapy and acupuncture as well as the psychological and physical benefits. I had chronic sciatic pain in my gluteal for 8 months, any time I would sit down I got significant pain, impacting school, work, and my exercise regimen – with acupuncture and massage therapy Alfie was able to eradicate that pain for me! Alfie provides a lot of education during the sessions, helping the patient to understand the source of their pain and their body better. Would highly recommend!

I’ve been going to see Alfie for a couple years now. Alfie helped make clear, through his work and consultation, how my daily routines at the office and home were really having a compounded negative impact on my body. Highly recommend Alfie if you’re looking for a trustworthy, professional, and effective massage therapist.

I’m a college student and I was referred to Vente Pain Relief Clinic. I’ve been dealing with chronic neck & jaw pain for a couple years now and I’ve seen amazing results thanks to Alfie’s deep tissue massage therapy. Before seeing Alfie I would go for monthly massage therapy treatments but nothing seemed to help. Not only is Alfie’s treatment and technique helpful but he is also very kind and professional. I highly recommend Vente Pain Relief Clinic!

I started going to Vente on May 23, 2019 after 2+ years of knee pain which seemed to have turned into chronic back pain. I had a specific short-term goal/timeline mind (hike Northover Ridge August 2-4, 2019) and wanted to either be able to achieve it pain-free, or simply ensure I didn’t have to stop/affect the group/turn back. I am extremely pleased that after the hike, I can report that I was able to carry my pack, hike up/down with just regular knee soreness (caused by slippery/steep downhill skree), recover quickly and am looking forward to the maintenance phase of recovery.

I had previously tried other RMTs (deep tissue), PTs (with IMS) , and Chiropractors and they were unable to help. Alfie was my last ditch attempt – I had resigned myself to “getting older” and just having chronic knee/back pain…

Immediately after my first appointment with Alfie Vente, I felt marked and significant improvement – I was pleasantly surprised. I learned that the knee pain was in fact caused by extremely tight fascia – starting from the foot on upward – and likely caused by (not the cause of) even older back issues. After the initial appointment my daily knee pain stopped right away – and has continued to feel zero-to-tiny bits of pain only.

Correcting my hip flexors has been a major component of this process. And after a few more appointments, other unexpected improvements took place, most surprisingly, improved breathing.

I tried to document these changes as they happened (below):

    Immediate – after first/second appointment (May 23, 2019):
-feet less pain, less callouses, much less bunion pain
-no knee pain after: 14km hike, going downhill, walking 10km on sidewalks
    -less Charlie horses
-fixed light carpal tunnel on arms
    -longer strides, less “hamster-like” steps

    After 3-4 appointments:
-breathing better, easier to reach deep breath, not catching at top
    -sleeping better
    -hip flexors looser

    After 5-6 appointments:
-left arm can reach up back further
    -shoulders more square/less rounded/bent over

    After 9 appointments:
    (post-hike with pack August 2-3, 2019):
-some knee pain but went away by next day
-foot pain went away by next day
-shin splints gone in one day.

    Thank you Alfie!
